Today I had to say goodbye to the kids I babysit

Kai wouldn’t let go of his hug and kept saying, “I love you Hannah, please stay forever.”

Katelyn grabbed my sweater and made me promise to send her a card on her sixth birthday. I met her just after her third.

Derek jumped in front of me and said he’d never let me leave.

This is the worst part of moving.

Disclaimer to the newish followers we’ve gotten in the last few days: he’s not my kid, I just babysit him and got really attached. He moves to Oregon on Monday and I’m in a really sappy mood about it.

2 of the families I babysit for are coming to my graduation

I may not have had much of a social life in college but at least I feel validated in the fact that I created substantial relationships somewhere else in my life.

This may sound sad but it’s not meant to be — I really love my job.
